Man Seriously Injured In Race Related Attack

Dawie Nel (42), an ex-Puma rugby player, had been assaulted on Wednesday at a traffic light near to Atterbury Value Mart in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. As he stopped at the traffic light a man approached his vehicle and opened the trunk, when Dawie got out of the vehicle to close it, he was attacked by three men.

One of the attackers stabbed him with a screwdriver near to his collarbone and punctured one of his lungs, the other stabbed him in the face with a knife. His ribs also got cracked in the attack.

Dawie then realized that the men wanted to kill him, after which he escaped and rushed himself to the Wilgers Hospital.
